Puerto Rico is now on my list of favorite places to visit. And, it’s been a little cloudy in Florida lately so I’m reminiscing on this sunny, perfect trip we took in January.

Why Puerto Rico?

After brainstorming for months on where we should get married for our destination wedding, we landed on Aguadilla for many reasons.

Specifically, Villa Montana which hosts destination weddings often. But mostly because it’s beautiful, we wouldn’t have to worry about passports, and there was surfing close by for Jarett. We decided to make the trip to Puerto Rico to do all of our tastings and make sure the place lived up to the Internet hype. We were in for one of the most incredible trips and it truly exceeded our expectations.

On top of all of that, we were in San Juan for the San Sebastian festival which was overflowing with color and an amazing time. I brought my film camera with me! The images below were taken with my Fuji Klasse 35mm film camera. It’s an incredible point and shoot that’s great for travel and especially this trip to Puerto Rico.

What you can’t miss in Puerto Rico

1. San Sebastian Festival- This was such an underrated, fun part of our trip. There was so much color and life. If you’ve ever experienced Mardi Gras, it had a similar feel. It marks the end of the Christmas holiday and there was food, drinks, people on stilts. It was a fabulous time!
2. Playa Jobos- This is the beach closer to where we were staying for our wedding. Surfing, cute little shops, restaurants, and plenty of trees with shade. It was a fun beach but also super relaxing! It was about a 5 minute drive from where we were staying in Isabela.
3. Crash Boat Beach- Near Rincon for great surfing, but truly some of the most beautiful water and art work I’ve ever seen. There’s plenty of guided scuba tours available but we chose to just make a beach day of it.

One of my favorite locations we went was Crash Boat Beach. Again, there was so much art work and color in addition to the crystal clear waters.
