Who would have thought I’d be photographing at a Tennessee Wedding Venue? Well, here we are! Rachel and Blake are truly something else. A couple that touches your heart and their warm presence lingers on and on for days on end. You wish you could just keep them around at all times because, the conversations run deep and yet you still feel at ease with each of them.

Rachel and Blake reached out about a year before their wedding which they were planning to have in Florida close to where I am based. Rachel had previously interned there and they loved the idea of having a wedding away from home as a vacation for their family and friends. We booked engagement photos and the date was set… or so we thought!

A Change of Plans

After dealing with the stresses of wedding planning/coordinating and travel, Rachel and Blake decided it better fit their wants and needs of their day to stay closer to home. They booked at Evins Mill in Smithville, Tennesee where Blake worked at one point in his life. I never imagined I’d be photographing their wedding at a Tennessee Wedding Venue but I’m so glad they did what was best for them and felt honored to take the journey up.

The rolling hills and beautiful farm land on the drive in is something out of a story book. But once you get into the heavily wooded area, it’s cooler and the forest is a little more dense with green foliage. We saw the most gorgeous waterfalls, chipmunks, an owl, and so much more. Waking up to the sound of waterfalls outside your room is so peaceful and relaxing. This setting was perfect for Rachel and Blake.
