While browsing for wedding venues in Mississippi, make sure you put Old Capitol Inn on your list. I couldn’t believe how stunning golden hour was. But honestly, the light came through beautifully at all times of the day. I know, I’m a Florida gal. But, I was in Mississippi for four years for college where I met one of my best friends, Jill Duckworth. Jill and I also worked at U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. for a number of years, but that’s for another blog post.
Jill and I are both photographers now and stay in close touch. You can see her beautiful work here. Recently, Jill told me she was having Baby # 2 and asked me along to come help photograph a wedding. I had never seen Mississippi Wedding Venues before and wanted to see how they compared to Florida Wedding Venues. I was excited, but I had no idea how incredibly beautiful the location was going to be. The Old Captiol Inn in Mississippi has white walls with greenery, fountains, and a perfect spot downtown. There happened to be a Mardi Gras parade that day. This was great to open up the balcony doors and allow the kids to have a little fun during getting ready.
Although I only met Ashton and Josh through Jill for the first time that day, everything went off without a hitch. They were people who just go with the flow and so relaxed. They incorporated Ashton’s children into the ceremony and every part of the day who clearly loved Josh which made the day even sweeter. Take a look at how stunning every part of this day was! The sentimental details, the shadows & light we were able to play with downtown, her change of dresses. Every detail was just absolutely perfect.
