I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again- there’s nothing like a Fort Pickens Engagement Photoshoot. Black walls? Yep. Rolling, grassy hills? You got it. Beautiful white and cream brick? Oh yeah. The Gulf of Mexico? It’s a dream location for families and couples alike. If you’re not interested in a photoshoot, please just go exploring and take in the beauty!
You may remember when I photographed Shane and Mary Miles’s proposal a few months ago. This couple makes me giddy because they’re foodies, so chill and laid back, and I honestly just want to be friends with them for the rest of my life. I feel like I knew them before I even met them because of the amount of time I spent talking about them with Mary Miles’s Mom, Anita Marie.
After photographing their proposal, the day was such a blur and I felt so amazing afterward. However, these two live in Savannah, Georgia so I had no idea what their wedding plans were and didn’t want them to feel pressured by me to choose them as their wedding photographer. So, I left it in God’s hands and it remained a mystery to me. I was elated when I got yet another text from Anita Marie asking if I was available for their May 2023 wedding. Are you serious?
When they booked with me, we started brainstorming for an engagement session since they would be in town in July. We settled on Fort Pickens and I couldn’t be more pleased with how these turned out. We had several layers of variety because they brought their Dad’s awesome car, and we also went to their home to get some adorable pictures with their pup. I love that they were willing to move from location to location and get as much as possible from their session. I cannot wait to share their wedding with you next spring!
