As a Pensacola Beach Maternity Photographer, I have LOTS of conversations with clients about the sky, the weather, and how to make the most of your photo shoot. I don’t use Photoshop heavily. I love taking advantage of the true colors in the session and using natural light to my advantage.
As long as there aren’t heavy storms, Pensacola Beach is really a place of unique beauty. It’s impossible to take a bad photo in this gorgeous scenery, especially when you’re photographing near Fort Pickens.
But sometimes, the clouds, the light, the water, and the scenery come together and you just get lucky.. Or as I like to call it, God’s favor. Sometimes, God just likes to show off a little and he did for this session.
We had to pause between photos several times because we were just staring off at the sunset and the landscape around us. Message me if you’d like my secret spot for the sunset on Fort Pickens! Couple that with this beautiful husband and wife duo, and you get this masterpiece. It also helps that Megan makes maternity look like a dream. She moves with grace and ease and I love that she wanted to hop in the water at the end of the session just as the sun was dipping down behind the northern storm clouds. All the shades of blue with the ocean, clouds, and Megan’s dress just perfectly showcase this sweet baby boy coming so soon. Did I mention they chose the best name EVER? I love the name Asher so much because of the character in “The Giver” and was so excited when they chose this name!
Megan + Brent, thank you for allowing me to photograph you. I can’t wait to meet sweet baby Asher.
All my best,
Jordan West
