When it comes to a Pensacola Beach Wedding, there are a few things you will most certainly pray for leading up to it. Aside from a happy couple, Justin and Kayley, we prayed for beautiful weather, a Blue Angels Flyover, and for things to run smoothly overall. Justin and Kayley are truly one of a kind, and I don’t think anything could have put a damper on their happiness. But, looking at the forecast the day prior, I didn’t feel to confident the weather would turn out like we hoped.
I arrived at Justin and Kayley’s rehearsal dinner and it was the first time I met them. They don’t live locally so I was excited to meet them. However, we jumped right into the nitty gritty of talking about the next day. I was so sure that it was going to dump rain on their wedding day, I even told them I would come on the last day of their vacation to do some couples photos of them as newlyweds if the weather didn’t cooperate. It seemed to put their mind at ease. However, if you know anything about the Blue Angels, if the weather is overcast, windy, etc. they will not do a flyover due to safety reasons. We kept our fingers crossed, but I didn’t get my hopes up.
I checked the forecast one last time and accepted our fate. 17 MPH winds all day and heavy clouds with rain showers scattered throughout the day. We would make it work. But, as I was driving over the Pensacola Beach Bridge on the morning of the wedding, I saw a small portion of blue sky opening up. I took a photo and texted my second photographer, Christy. Am I seeing what I think I’m seeing??? Blue skies? Within the hour, the skies completely opened up and the winds went down to 5 MPH. It was as if God placed his hand on the beach for us. I couldn’t believe it. As we met up with Kayley we checked in with the Blue Angles Practice Info Page (GREAT source of info if you’re planning a flyover photo)! We moved our first looks over to the beach so we would be ready in case they came early.
Now, Justin and Kayley are HUGE Blue Angels fans and said they didn’t care how the rest of the day went. I told them their ceremony may run late and they were completely fine with that. I was a nervous wreck getting ready for this photo, but we made it happen. The Commanding Officer of the Blue Angels even messaged me on Instagram for their address to send them a signed copy. I thought that was so incredible. Not only that, but just as their ceremony was starting, Fat Albert flew over and everyone got to see the show. The amazing vendor team were all pivotal in making this happen. Their planner, Brooke remained so flexible and informed guests of what was happening as they looked on. Their preacher was communicating with the Blue Angels Photographer and texting us play by plays of where they were! Truly, a team of MVP’s!
Justin and Kayley went upstairs to be married and enjoyed their night as newlyweds. They danced the night away with friends and family and continued to enjoy a gorgeous sunset with amazing weather. The evidence of love between these two was felt all around the room. Kayley’s maid of honor, Margarita, made a speech that had the whole room tearing up. I can’t picture a day turning out any more perfect for this deserving couple.
Justin + Kayley, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your day! Wishing you all of the happiness in your marriage!
All my best, Jordan West
