As a 30A Senior Photographer I tend to attract bright, colorful leaning young ladies who want to have a lot of fun with their session. However, Lillian’s senior session felt like stepping into a completely different creative lane. If you don’t know, Lillian is my boyfriend’s niece which made it all the more fun. I always have seniors send me any inspiration they have to get an idea of they’d like to move, pose, and create alongside me. When I saw Lillian’s mood board and Pinterest, it was definitely out of my comfort zone which made me really excited! She told me she would like to channel a “Catholic nun” vibe which I thought was awesome. While I wasn’t sure I could make that happen in Seaside, we did our best!
We started the afternoon at Eden Garden State Park, where everything feels a little softer, a little quieter. The light filtered through the trees in that dreamy, diffused way photographers chase, and Lillian leaned right into it. If you’re a 30A Senior Photographer photographer, you know how lucky it feels when you have a subject who knows how to move, is confident, and loves being in front of the camera.

If you’re planning to photograph in Seaside during spring break, a little strategy goes a long way. First, be aware of the beach curfew—access typically shuts down around 7:00 PM, which means you won’t catch a full sunset there. Instead, plan to pivot over to Inlet Beach for those final golden moments. It’s less crowded and gives you a much cleaner horizon to work with.

Crowds are another factor. Spring break brings a lot of foot traffic, so aim for early morning sessions or lean into less obvious spots for shooting. Side streets, architectural details, and shaded pockets can give you variety without fighting the chaos. Also, parking can slow you down—build in extra time so you’re not rushed or stressed heading into your session.
