As a Florida Family Photographer, one of my favorites to photograph is maternity. Madison and Taylor are no strangers to this as I had the honor of photographing their first maternity session as well. This time, Baby Avery came long with for the session and it was so sweet to see her alongside her Mama who is almost due with Baby Number 2. This time, we decided to opt for the Soundside Trail in Gulf Breeze Florida and take Maternity Photos with Camellias. Bringing a toddler along to your photo session adds in a new dynamic. But Avery was just perfect with her Mom and Dad and their outfits were perfect for the location.

Soundside Trail Views

If you haven’t frequented the trail, it’s accessible from the back of Tiger Point. But, parking is available on Soundside Dr. in Gulf Breeze. There is a ton of variety to offer. There are rolling oak trees, Spanish Moss, sound side access, and depending on the season you’ll see gorgeous flowers in bloom. Madison was lucky with her due date! The camellias were showing off big time even after the crazy freeze we experienced a few weeks beforehand.

The variety and walkable paths of the trails also make it much easier on toddlers and younger kids, because they aren’t stuck in one spot feeling like they need to smile. There are plenty of breaks built in as they can check out everything along the path.

As we walked out to the exit, we went to a different entrance and the camellias were everywhere! Avery’s patience was wearing thin with us but we got the job done. It turns out, she loves to smell the flowers and wants everyone else to smell them, too! She was adorable with her Mama. She also wanted her Dad to smell the flowers (deeply) as you can see in the images below.
