Walking Down Memory Lane: The Gillen Family’s Heartwarming Photo Session

At Jordan West Photo, I have the privilege of capturing life’s most precious moments, and the Gillen Family’s recent session at Henderson Beach Resort in Destin, Florida, was no exception. This charming family, who exchanged their vows at the same resort a few years ago, returned with their adorable six-month-old baby to create new memories and revisit their cherished past.

Returning to the place where they were married, the Gillens embarked on a journey down memory lane. The familiar sights and sounds of Henderson Beach Resort reminded them of their beautiful wedding day. Now, with their sweet baby girl in tow, they celebrated not only their love but also the growth and changes that have enriched their lives since then.

A Cooperative Little Star

Photographing a six-month-old can sometimes be challenging, but the Gillens’ baby was a delight. Despite being a bit tired, she remained incredibly sweet and cooperative throughout the session. Her innocent smiles and curious eyes added an extra layer of magic to the photos, capturing the pure joy and love that radiated from this young family.

Embracing the Elements in Destin, Florida

The session took place on an overcast and windy day, conditions that some might find less than ideal for photography. However, I believe that beauty can be found in any weather. Here in Destin, Florida the weather is unpredictable at all times. There are pop-up showers at the last minute and the forecast may read storms all week. Only to find out there will be the most beautiful sunsets and skies in the evenings! Although we know I love those saturated skies with bright light, the soft, diffused light of an overcast sky can create a lovely, even illumination, perfect for capturing tender moments. The wind, too, added a touch of dynamism to the photos- something I like to call “Beyonce Wind” LOL!
