As a frequent photographer of Gulf Breeze High School Sports, I was so excited when the Lacrosse Team reached out about photos for their spring season. I’ve never been to so much as a lacrosse game and was excited to see the elements it encompassed. I was lucky enough to capture both teams and even a little bit of practice from the men’s team.

Gulf Breeze Men’s Lacrosse Team

We started off with the men’s team right when their uniforms came in. We were able to get some really dynamic photographs despite the harsh sunlight and consistently moving shadows as the sun went down. Trying to juggle shadows, practice in the background, and avoid getting pegged with a lacrosse ball was tough. BUT, we made it happen and it paid off- big time. The determination etched on their faces during practice spoke volumes about their passion for the game. With each shot, I aimed to capture the raw power and precision that define lacrosse at its core.

Photographing the seniors as a group together is, hands down, my favorite part of photographing sports. You can just tell they’re soaking it all in and gathering up memories for the last time as a team. Both the girls and boys chose to do their senior group photos on the turf for the field aesthetic. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is to know the seniors’ faces light up as their personalized banners were hung proudly on display. These banners symbolize years of dedication and hard work, serving as a testament to their commitment to the sport they love. It was an honor to play a part in commemorating their achievements.

GBHS Women’s Lacrosse Team

The girls took a little bit more time, to no one’s surprise, to get their group shots done. In the boys’ defense, they were doing the photos in the midst of practice. Then, we met up again several days later to photograph the entire girls team at Pensacola Beach.
