If you’re looking for a quiet, quaint place to stay along 30A but you’ve been dealing with crowds and too many teenagers in Seaside, I give you.. Watersound 30A. What a majestic gem and breath of fresh air this session was. It was the perfect way to close the summer season. No crowds. A nice breeze off the coast blowing in. And a beautiful location with plenty of sidewalks and paths to get to the ocean.

As a 30A Family Photographer, there’s one thing I can promise you. If there’s rain showers in the day and they’re cleared out by the evening, the sunset will be epic. Give me all the pinks, blues, and purples! One of the best things about sunsets along the Gulf Coast is that our beaches (mostly) run East to West. We get a golden hour that doesn’t require too much sun flare and back lighting because it drops behind the dunes first.

When Joy reached out to me she told me she and her husband had a 6 month old baby. Her parents and also her brother would be also be visiting Watersound 30A and they don’t get to see each other very often because they live pretty far apart. I was so excited to photograph these joyful moments between each family member. The celebration of welcoming a new one and the sweetness of a new baby is like no other. And let me tell you, this was the sweetest 6 month old baby I might have ever photographed. She was full of giggles, smiles, and cuddles throughout the entirety of the session. When the sun dipped down below the clouds, the skies opened up with one of the most stunning sunsets I’ve ever seen. Although it was windy, I was so glad we got to experience this together.
